Dr. Vijay undergraduated from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi in the year 2005 (Dr. Vijay joined the prestigious MAMC in the year 2000) and went on to do his MS (Orthopaedics) from Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi and associated Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, SSK Hospital and Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital. He did his advanced training in joint replacement and arthroscopy from The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane, Australia under the guidance of Prof Ross Crawford. He visited the Cape Shoulder Institute, Cape Town, South Africa to further fine tune his skills in shoulder arthroscopy.
He has been awarded the prestigious Indian Orthopaedic Association travelling fellowship and the World Society of Pediatric Diseases fellowship to present his work in Cape Town. He was awarded the Diploma SICOT (Belgium) and was also awarded the European Society of Sports traumatology and Knee Surgery fellowship to further chisel his expertise in sports medicine and arthroscopy.
Having been trained at the FIFA medical centre of excellence at Portugal and centres like Cape Shoulder Institute, he is adept in managing all sports related ailments and problems.
Dr. Vipul has been working as a consultant at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi and has had the opportunity to be actively involved in the teaching of DNB students and visiting fellows to the orthopaedic department there. He has been awarded the adjunct title of Associate Professor from AHERF for his academic roles. He is very well read with more than 50 research publications and more than 20 national and international level lectures to his name.
Dr. Vipul Vijay is an orthopaedic surgeon who is well versed in all basic and complicated orthopaedic surgeries with special expertise in primary and complex joint replacement, arthroscopy of the upper and lower limb and complex trauma.
Dr. Vipul follows the “step ladder” pattern of treatment of disorders. With the whole gamut of options ranging from conservative (medicines, physiotherapy and injection therapy) to operative options available, the patients are assured a solution to all their bone, joint and spine related problems.
Dr Vipul Vijay believes in providing the holistic care to every patient. He is passionate about medicine and compassionate towards the patients. Dr Vipul Vijay is an orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in lower and upper limb joint replacement and key-hole surgery (arthroscopy). Dr Vijay is internationally trained and an expert in his field. With special training in joint replacement and arthroscopy from Australia, South Africa and Europe, he applies international techniques and follows world class standards in joint replacement and key-hole surgery. He has lectured and taught surgical techniques both nationally and internationally.
He has more than 100 international publications to his name with publications in esteemed journals like Journal of Arthroplasty, Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, International Orthopaedics and Journal of geriatric Surgery etc. Whilst Dr Vipul Vijay is an adult reconstructive orthopaedic surgeon and has principal interest in joint replacement surgery, he also specializes in complex fractures and polytrauma.
